Ok my dad has used Wachovia for probably 20 years. He does all his personal and business banking through them, including paychecks. I use Bank of America and have for a few years, Im mostly happy with them and usually just deposit my check into my BoA account and call it a day.
I forgot to pay my car insurance, its due tomorrow, so I figured id cash my check at wachovia first before depositing so that I can pay my insurance today. They charged me 5 bucks to do it because I dont have an account there :|
When the fuck did this start? I havent cashed a check there in a couple of years (and sure as hell never paid to do it when I did), as I had moved out of town for a while, lived in kansas and I cant tell you how many times I cashed checks at numerous banks there and never got charged a damn dime to do it. My check wasnt even a big one, I work part-time and it was for $155 :-/
Edit: And what made it worse is that the teller didnt even mention the fee until she was handing me my cash.
