I ran the microwave for 5 minutes with nothing in it

I was timing a hamburger I was cooking, and forgot to press the kitchen timer button before entering the time. Then I didn't notice the fan spinning. I know it can damage the magnetron, but does that cause the microwave to leak more radiation than normal?

Your hair should grow back in a few months.

Good news is you can sell all your flashlights.

Visible light>microwave
If you are not damaged by visible light, then microwave radiation should not either

Microwaves don't ever leak radiation unless their structural integrity is compromised.

Uhm, simple answer, you are an idiot. Complicated answer, you are a fvcking idiot.

So, if microwaves don't hurt you, then you wouldn't mind if I made a large microwave-oven and stuck you in there?

Oh obviously, which is why microwaves aren't used to cook food.

Oh wait...

It gets distilled into pure energon?

Ha Ha. Reminds me of a guy at work, we had him convinced you had to pre-heat a microwave oven.

It doesen't get used and is reflected back into the magnetron; it causes it to heat up.

What if it gets reflected out of the fan holes? Are they small enough that the mesh will block microwaves?

Yes, no microwaves can leave the oven.

Now, if you're talking about electromagnetic radiation from the magnetron and associated electronics, that's a whole 'nother thread. ;) All electronic devices put off some EMR.

Well I don't care about regular EMR. I just don't want cataracts.

LOL, yes microwaves will burn you, just like how infrared radiation from fire will burn you. But it's not radioactive.
You'll know the microwave "radiation" is leaking if you get burned when you're close to it. If you don't feel anything, then it's not leaking.

You are the only idiot here who doesn't have a clue what radiation is, and thinks it's automatically bad.
