I doubt most cops now-a-days could run 8 miles  😛

Not with 25+ pounds of gear on while updating dispatch over the radio, no.

Do cops wear a vest at all times? If not what accounts for the 25+ lbs of weight?

8 miles on a treadmill? You're crazier than I am!

Thats actually the only place I can run any more than 4-5 miles. I get too distracted outside.

Weird. I need to be outside. Treadmills and tracks bore me to tears. I like being out where 10 miles passes by like nothing because it's so varied.

Yes, plus a gun with three full magazines, an ASP baton, OC spray, a radio, a flashlight (or two), a Taser, keys, 2 sets of handcuffs, rubber gloves, regular gloves, a knife, a notepad, pens, a badge, a nametag, uniform shirt, pants, socks, boots, undershirt (or two, depending on the weather), a cell phone, 2 belts (trouser belt and duty belt), and sometimes a backup gun with at least 1 full magazine.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I carry a Gerber multitool as well.

how long did it take you to run 8 miles?? im just curious. did you take a break or was it a straight 8 mile run no walking rest?

You need to do more weight training. If you do only cardio, you will lose a lot of muscle mass along with some fat. Especially with that crappy diet seemingly void of protein

When that happens you will look fairly crappy, and your metabolism will be SLOWER than it is now because muscle mass is very metabolically active, and you will be burning it away.

Heh, I know more about nutrition and exercise than 99% of the people on ATOT, so please do not critique my diet and exercise routine without knowing anything about it 😉 I have been training and researching nutrition for longer than I can remember. Just as everyone else, I have my times when I'll not be able to maintain the routine and gain weight, or lose weight, etc. so just trying to get back into shape...

Me at 224 lbs (bulk): after4.jpg

I am stronger now than when I took that photo, and 14 lbs less, so I guess I am getting there 😉

Nah, I was out with friends, and on our way back, we frickin stopped by 7-11 and got some of those taquitos or whatever they are called. Well, I ate 2, and I know how frickin bad those are, so I drove to my gym (its 24 hours: Lifetime Fitness, best gym ever) and ran 8 miles at 3am. I just woke up and I feel dead tired. Jeez. At least I don't feel bad about those taquitos anymore.

🙂

i wish i had a gym open 24 hours 🙂

i ran for about 45 min to an hour trying to improve my handle. its kinda rusty (haven't played in forever) so i ran full speed back and forth on a basketball court trying to make layups. didn't have much luck at first but i did at the end. still need to work on my handle though lol

Same. Besides, running outside is much more beneficial to your body, especially if you're training for a long distance run.

But whatever makes you happy... at 3:00 a.m. 😀

yes, very.

Christ. Even the cops couldn've made me run 8 miles... I'd be like, "OK, fine, we've gone 2 blocks already, this is some serious crap. Just lock me up already, I'm not that desperate."
