I raced a maxima yesterday

in my '93 protege with 170k miles on it. i beat him on the takeoff, but didnt want to go too much over the speed limit since we were in a construction zone, and the fine is double. after i let up on the gas however, he past me, and continued BLAZING down the road, had to have hit 75-80 at least. i was surprised i passed him, didnt thik i would have a chance.

p.s., it was a LATE model maxima, probably a 2000

He had to have let you win - a 2000 Maxima has 227 hp V6 - one of the most highly rated engines by C&D. Possibly he wasn't even trying?

and they do 6.7 sec only under &quot;perfect&quot; conditions that means it's going to bout 9-10 sec under the ral world conditions but still a protege has no chance dream on!

my bro's 95 maxima has 190hp and can do 0-60 in 6.7
for a big car, it is fast.
and actualy, no perfect conditions reqired, ive timed my bro, its pretty close, +/- .5 sec

6.7 is reported by mags.
Probably 7.0 for most decent drivers.

I know that our Mercedez Benz E420 can do 0-60 faster than 6.2 seconds, because I have timed it, and on a public street, it was 6.0 on the dot.....

I am thinking it can go faster on a dragstrip 🙂

Next time we go out there, we are gonna race it, and I will be sure to scan in the picture
