I pulled a prank on a guy I know and now I feel bad

This guy I know has been looking for a roadbike on craigslist for weeks now with no luck. I created a fake ad for one and the title was "Awesome Trek road bike". I got a picture off the internet that was of a 1000+ dollar bike and put it in the ad. In the ad I said I had just moved to college and couldn't take it with me and left it at my parent's house.

Within the first day I got about 10 emails from people wanting specs ect and was very interested. The second day he took the bait and asked what size, specs ect and said he was extremely interested. I told him my brother could meet him at Wal-Mart parking lot and we set up a time for the next day. He emailed me and said he was there and I waited about 20 minutes and emailed him and said my brother couldn't make it and it would have to be tomorrow. The next day he emails and ask when and I came clean and told him who I was and I was just f'ing with him.

This weekend I see him and he says "Thanks a lot asshole, I sold my guitar at a loss to buy that bike" Not only did he sell his guitar for 100 less than he wanted but he also drove an hour one way to Guitar Center to get rid of it. Now I feel bad, I thought I would just prank him and make him waste 20 minutes at the WM parking lot and that would be it, I had no clue he would be selling his bike(edit:guitar).

It would have been an ok prank had you just replied to his first email "ha ha, it's just me Sawyer, fucking with you."
