Never pre orderd anything before and the damn game came to just under $70 with shipping and tax. What was I thinking?!?!?

And try "Who gives a fvck" about the interest on something like this. It's not like he was going to put it into the stock market until the game shipped. And even at any reasonable rate of interest, the return on $70 is what, $0.50 over a week?

Yeah, but Doom basically turned into Quake. I really don't see how they can take the "lone marine travels through a maze like map killing monsters and bad guys" concept any further. In any event, they seem to be selling Doom 3 mostly on eye candy which bolsters my above point.
