I played Pokemon for the first time last night...

Holy sh!t does it suck. How can anyone like it?!? I was playing Pokemon Silver on my cousins Game Boy Color. He was going nuts when he was trying to explain what a poke ball is, or something called a lugia (I think thats what he said). I could get a master ball, etc...

What a crappy game. He was really excited this Christmas cause he thinks he got that "Hey You, Pikachu!" N64 game from me...

Are you trying to start a flame war with joshpokeball, or is this just one of those personal revelations you felt like sharing? Either way I agree, I'm just curious.

who is joshpokeball?

I'm just saying I dont like the game and dont see why kids like it. I know they do like it though, and did get my cousin the Hey You, Pikachu game

Josh is the only one out of the current 30,000-some members who defends pokemon, and he has a pokemon site. I haven't seen him for a while, so he might be banned or gave up.

I thought pokeballs were those red keychain ball things with pokecrap from burger king kids meals that was killing babies and small animals

Josh isn't banned, I see his posts from time to time. Unlike Paulson he really did stop neffing like a madman. As a game, Pokemon far from sucks. For a gameboy RPG its really good.

It's not just about the game........ it's about the game, cartoons & cards 😎 It's just a fad, like hockey & baseball cards, cabbage patch kids dolls, Transformers 😀 This too shall pass and be replaced by something else............. hopefully 'cute' looking women cards 😉 I'd collect all of those cards 😉

Cheers,
Aquaman

I myself didn't like the game, but my brother loves it and plays it over and over. I do see the merits in it though, yes it is a RPG and the concept isn't too bad. You probably just got the impression that it sucks because how popular it is with the little kids (I am guessing you aren't a 5 year old). But how long did you play it if you didn't know anything about the game? Who knows, you might like it if you get into it, but then again, maybe you aren't a RPG guy.

<< It's just a fad, like hockey & baseball cards >>

Baseball cards (and sports cards in general) aren't fads, they're cultural icons. A fad, such as Pokemon, lasts 1-2 years (or less) then dies. Sports cards have been around for almost 100 years and will probably be around until the sport itself dies.
