Try to remember that there is a higher chance that your plane will crash into the ocean than you will be hurt by a terrorist. Enjoy your vacation! Big smile! BIG smile!

Last time I went to Europe was 15 years ago, <6 months before 9/11. I also had a layover through the Brussels airport at the time. Would certainly like to go again, just haven't had the means. You think this will blow over by then?

It's better to do it sooner than later. If this shit worries you now, forget going at all.

My in-laws were mid-flight to Brussels when the attack happened and my brother-in-law was already there and on the way to the airport to meet them. Very lucky as they got stopped in London; if it was an hour later it could have been bad. Was a tense morning since we were not sure when exactly they were supposed to land!

In-laws huh? Well better luck next time I guess.

If anyone finds this post offensive try to remember it was only a joke.

9/11 happened in the U.S., and the OP didn't move out of the country for the sake of safety. In other words, the OP is either trolling, or an idiot incapable of assessing realistic risks.

well i've got a few weeks before i have to go

honestly i am getting sick just thinking about it, i better go to bed before i hyperventilate 😵

Just go, don't worry about it, you can't live in a box. Was in Brussels in 2014, i'd go again now and still not be worried. Wanted to get to London for a day in 2014, but was cheaper to go to Denmark for a day.

If you could transfer your reservations, i'd give you $500 for your tickets and any other reservations.

The entire point of terror is to force you to change your activities or way of life out of fear. Don't give them exactly what they want.

I would absolutely go, fuck them.

You're more likely to die from a lightning strike than be killed by a terrorist.

More likely to get killed crossing the street or driving to work as well.

Just go, and stop panicking over the "if it bleeds, it leads" media hysterics.

P.S. Homicides by firearm are another overblown media frenzy. Those have trended down for the past two decades and your relative risk of dying from any sort of violent crime is really, really low.
great, now he's going to be afraid every time it rains in England...which is basically every day 😛

Brian, you really ought to go on your trip. 400 dbag criminials is a lot less dangerious then say, detroit or chicago, or new orleans or some parts of LA or NY.

Go and have fun on your vacation. It sucks that innocent people were blasted into little bits and pieces, it is fucking awful and sorry and horrible and terrible and bad. But, life goes on. Enjoy your trip and have fun!

What State/City do you live in here in the States? I can almost guarantee you are much more likely to die here from something other than terrorism than to die from terrorism in England.

OP is right. The terrorists are everywhere. The only thing we can do is lock ourselves in our homes, complete with moat and anti-aircraft guns and wait for some private corporation to make things more secure.

To be fair, most people are idiots incapable of assessing realistic risks if the rhetoric spewed by our politicians on both sides of the aisle is any indication.

People have already said it--just go and enjoy yourself. You're more likely to get hit by a car leaving your house than caught up in a terrorist attack.

hes also statistically more likely to fall and die IN HIS HOUSE then a terrorist attack
