We get credit for gas through our credit card so I typically pay about .09 a gallon. For some reason you can't go lower than 9 cents even if you have the credits.

It won't last folks; it never does. The industry will find a way to get prices back up in the $3/gal. range one way or the other. I paid $2.15 today and counted myself lucky; a year ago it was close to $4. Keep in mind that oil prices now are determined not so much by good old supply and demand; a barrel of oil is now a commodity whose value is less than ever tied to market forces. More reason than ever to wean ourselves off the stuff, along with all the others.

woop woop $1.34 at Kroger - 30 cents for my rewards points and blammo. cheapest gas i have paid for in over a decade.

I wish...cheapest gas here is $1.66 at Costco. The local Fred Meyer store (Kroger affiliate) is $1.69. We have about 30 cents in gas points. I'm gonna fill up the motorhome before the points expire at the end of the month.

Paid $2.39 today, it's probably a little below average here. There's still stations that price gouge us at over $3, such as in Mission Valley (if you know where that is here in San Diego). Gotta love So Cal....

Well said and I agree. Have been looking into buying an electric car as of late. The drop in oil/gas prices has really depressed the market for electrics, sending prices downward. Yesterday I saw a 2015 Leaf with less than 10k miles for less than $14k.

Which is funny since SUV and truck sales have gone up immensely because of the cheap gas. I just bought a new car and made it it got good gas mileage because yes as you said, it will go right back up.

Had 60 cents off with Kroger points week or two ago, hit $0.99 -- bit more groceries and could have been down to $0.59. Put it on a rewards card anyway.

:D

Meanwhile it's 90 cents per litre up here...and it's not like we import this stuff.
80.9¢ per litre at one of the gas stations near my house in Toronto.

However, considering I drive a PHEV, it will be quite a while before I need to fill up. In the winter I might get 750 km or so out of a 35 L tank, and the summer it's sometimes twice that at 1500 km or so.

Fantastic!

I've been paying about $1.30 a gallon for as long as I can remember. Sadly, I would pay double this if the market was not tanking because (you guessed it) of low energy prices.

There are few, if any reasons to celebrate these gas prices ... unless you are not invested in the market.

Id assume 95% of the population is not invested in these. So its pretty much a win/win :) Screw the 1% :p

It's fucking OPEC trying to undercut us. All the people that had jobs in North Dakota are now losing their jobs because of OPEC bastards.

Greedy fucks, the lot of them. Burn in hell!

That was a year ago.
Everyone that was there before the boom still are working if they want to. But they made so much money they retired and pay someone else to do their old job now for pre boom wages
Thanks OPEC?

And Iran started selling today. .79c gas. ftw.

One downside is that my state will probably increase the gas tax. A pox on the poor that won't go away when prices rise.
