I ordered my e7200 today from Newegg. I still need to find a good price on this cooler. This cpu seems like a beast. Check this out! I have never been so excited about an upgrade as I am about this one. I can't wait till it arrives!

Get a better cooler, I have the Freezer 7 Pro and it is a GOOD cooler but it's not for max oc's.

I know those are just sucide runs but oh my god...that little chip just screams. $134 for 4GHz on air is crazy...

"looks into wallet....sighs"

1.6v WILL kill that thing quick. They 45nm chips have a max voltage listed as 1.3625 unlike 1.5 on the regular 65nm cpus.

This chip seems very tempting. I will just have to wait a bit longer as I too looked in my wallet. I need food now........i think..... :)

food is overrated. you can go 30 days without food. overclocking, however, will kill you if you go more than 3 days without it...

For either one, get a bolt-thru kit and make your life easier. Keep me informed on this CPU, I'll probably be getting one when my tax rebate gets here.

+1 for best value hsf as it performs just a degree or two behind the Ultra-120 Extreme. If you want a 92mm version, the Kingwin Revolution is the exact copy and is only $32 at newegg.

I'm thinking of buying this chip. I have a ~3 year old zalman fan that is currently cooling my AMD Venice 3200, would that same fan work to cool this thing?

Me too. Was gonna go for an E2180 and decent overclock, but it seems that this chip would be the way to go.

I'm also curious as to the OP's results, keep us informed.

Woot! GL with that chip and hope to hear good things about it. I'm also considering getting one for fun, though I'm having less and less time to "play" with stuff. :(

Not if you want to overclock. Or is your 3 year old Zalman a Zalman 9500? If it is, it will be okay.

They are a thing of beauty...a pain to lap, but once done and loaded with a 1600rpm fan they sure are sweet...See!
Temps stay nice and cool!...and it's currently 78 degrees in the house!
Even when loaded they don't break a sweat (this was taken a few days ago...).

There is nothing wrong with the Ninja, I just like the Xigmatek because it only weighs 600 grams with the fan.

I will keep you updated! I need a good cooler though. I want something decent for under $50.00. With my e4300 right now I am using the stock hsf and having great success.

I broke down and got this as well. Is it possible to do some overclocking with the stock cooler or is it absolutely necessary to get one of those monster coolers?

I just bought a used tuniq for $28.

you can oc a decent amount on that cpu with stock cooling, say up to 3.4-3.6 probably, but temps will get very high very fast. I'd dial in something easy, like a 333fsb or something, then wait for the aftermarket cooler to arrive.

you should be able to do plenty of ocing on the stock cooler, just keep an eye on your load temps

Awesome, I was thinking it would have defeated the purpose to buy this for $133 and then have to spend $40 on an aftermarket cooler.

AC Freezer 7 pro is only $23 shipped right now in hot deals. that's probably good enough for a 3.5-3.75 oc on that cpu.

yah you can find a AC7 for $8 - $19 usually and it performs well and comes with paste already on the base. Just shop around after your 7200 comes in if you get tired of running at 3.4ghz and want to shoot for 4.0ghz; or lap both and go higher!
