I ordered a Dell 8400 w/ a P4 3.2, but they sent me a 3.4 intead!!

In college, Gateway sent the guy in the dorm room next to me two monitors with his computer. When he called to tell the CSR their mistake, the CSR told him to keep it because it would have cost Gateway too much to have the monitor shipped back. :shocked:

they REALLY fubared the order

what it was supposed to be:

Intel P4 2.6GHz FSB800
1x512MB RAM
Dell Mouse and Keyboard

She got :

Intel P4 2.8GHz FSB800
2x512MB RAM
Dell Optical Mouse and QuietKeyboard

lol, she didnt notice until about 4 months later

I've also heard of people ordering 19" inch LCDs and getting 20" ones . . . i'd love to be them :D

The right thing to do would be for you to contact Dell CS. You should tell them that you have received a different item than you ordered and request a correction or simply pay them the money you owe.

i wanted to return an NEC LCD monitor to Dell and they paid me $100 to keep it. Sold it on craigslist for the same price i bought it for. I heart Dell!

If he calls them, he should just ask what Dell wants to do about it. Chances are high the CSR will just say "don't worry about it". He certainly shouldn't volunteer to pay extra money that he never wanted to spend in the first place.
