I only have water, is Kraft in the blue box please mac'n'cheese still doable?

I never add milk/butter/whatever to my mac&cheese...tastes just fine without.

Or are you talking about the microwave kind? 😕

No, not the microwave kind.

I've heard some people say its fine, others hate it with just water.

Truthfully I have milk but it expired on the 1st and I'm a pussy.

What would be really handy is if we had a system to give a "shopkeeper" some form of "currency" to "purchase" products like milk. In the US it could come in proper cartons, and in Europe it could come in floppy bags.

I'm patenting this idea by the way, I think it could revolutionize the world.

Dude, just smell the milk.

If it doesen't smell bad, it is FINE. Expiration dates mean very little. They're pretty much a worst case scenario. Our fridge is 34ºF and has no problem keeping milk 2 weeks past the expiration date.

u can, in a REALLY big pinch, use non dairy creamer in water. but it's fine with just the butter and water. really, you're just trying to get the cheese to a somewhat normal state and mixing it with the pasta.

I don't own a car or feel like walking 5 miles to the store. -_-

EDIT: Ok, I checked the milk. It didn't smell bad but it was murky lookin'. I swished it around and took a sip and it seems fine. We are good to go for mac'n'cheese

with water it will come out like crap.

Other things work though, like adding the cheese mix to tomato sauce.

Get a job, buy a car, establish some credit. Then come back and talk to us.

Jobs are for the middle class...

I'm j/k.

Anyway, the milk was fine and it turned out great. Now onto my paper...:disgust:

i've actually made it with water because i don't have milk.

it tasted fine, i just added a little extra butter to make up for the lack of creaminess. the "cheese" did all the work.

The milk helps the cheese power turn liquidy. If you drain the noodels until they are pretty dry, then you need something for the cheese to disolve in. Water would probably work but I'd use as little as possible.

Or quit being lazy and go to the grocery store.

I tried making Mac & Cheese sans milk one time. The color was almost neon and the cheese flavor was overwhelmingly strong. Who knew that 1/4 cup of milk could make such a difference? 😛

i usually only put a couple tablespoons of milk anyway.

you could add some coffeematye with water.

other tips- melt some slices of american cheese along with the powdered stuff to make it cheesier.

add a can of drained tune, or some cooked ground beef, it is delicious.
