Bud Light is the worst.

Bud light and coors light have the same amount of alcohol 4.2%.

How does volume of alcohol dictate how good a beer is?

It doesn't. Some of the best beers are low in alcohol. Guinness in Ireland has less than 4%.

Guinness Draught is 4.1% abv, Guinness Extra Stout is 4.3% abv. Of course, Beamish is much better than Guinness ever will be, but you yanks don't know that. Take a visit to Cork and try some. :)

I wouldn't say Beamish is better than the Guinness Extra but Beamish is good. Personally, West Coast Ale>English Ale>Irish Ale>Scottish>All others.

Nothing on this planet is better than a Murphy's Irish Stout, and no fecking Brit beer is better than an Irish beer.

Sensitive? I will agree that no one makes a better stout than the Irish. However, I'd rather drink a Scotch Ale than an Irish Amber.

Born and raised Irishman, I get emotional over beer sometimes, it's genetic.

I drink nothing from Anheuser-Busch for 3 reasons:

1) Old timer in bar told me they make the most chemically processed beer in usa.
2) Many people complain of headaches from Bud
3) I knew someone that drank bud like water and died fairly young (cause unknown)

Coors appeals to people who don't like beer to begin with.

Some tasty beers worth mentioning:

Holsten
Carlsburg
Molson: Golden & Canadian
Labatt: Blue & Ale
Stella Artois
Red Stripe
Waterloo Dark
Rogue Hazlenut (microbrew)

Lately I've been drinking microbrews when I'm out, and Labatt's Select (acquired taste) when I'm home.

5 Reasons for Labatt's Select:

Less dehydrating
Less filling
No Preservatives
Labatt's is affordable
Labatt's is easier on my stomache than Molson

*Note: Green bottled beer doesn't tend to keep very long due to light. Beers like Molson Golden get unfairly knocked for being "skunky" when the fact is they're not fresh.

I used to drink Bud Light, but i've been getting Miller Lite lately. I've tried a lot of different beers, but I just haven't found one I like, so I pick the one that I can drink the most of, and Miller Lite is it right now.

If you come by my bbq's you have too options: cheap beer (e.g., $12/case variety) or homebrew (still $12/case but tastes as good as any microbrew you might find). Take it your pick, but if you open it, you better drink it all. :)

You sir know your beers!! I'm a Stone IPA guy myself.

Others to consider:

Abita Turbodog (my fishing beer)
Sudwerk Doppelbock (a monster on tap)
Sudwerk Unfiltered Marzan (currently on tap, I like the unfiltered stuff)
Buffalo Bill's Alimony Ale (I'm lucky the brewery is only 15 min away)
PCB Imperial Stout (a little thin but more than 2 will kick your ass)

As a native Corkman, and part-time Dubliner, I can unequivocably state that there is more then 4% in native Guinness.. there's a pub in Rathmines (section of Dublin) that brews a clone of Guinness at 7.5%... not bad... but it tastes quite bitter..

We have enough "domestics are crap" and "only ______ is the best and your beer sucks" and of course "#1 cheap domestic is 10x better than #2 cheap domestic when they are so similar it's not even funny" threads.

Let's get back to the girl here. Note to OP: If a girl says "I want to drink beer tonight but don't drink coors light I only drink bud light", you go out and get her some friggin bud light. Or dump some coors into a bud light container (she probably won't know the difference anyway). Any girl willing to drink beer instead of a chick drink, espeically with you....you should take full advantage of it b/c my thinking is that these situations don't arise much for you.

All pilsner's are CRAP.

Black and evil as my ex wife's soul...that's the only beer for me. I want to eat it with a fork. I want it to crawl out of my frosted mug, up my arm, open my mouth and cram itself down my throat. I want particles of light to be trapped within it's black center, incapable of escape.

mmmmmmm

I was told once that drinking flavored beer was a cop-out. It was near the holidays at the time so I had picked up some Pete's Wicked Winter Brew, which was what the person in question was commenting on. It wasn't much of a conversation though as I asked what he was drinking and the answer was something like Natty Light or some other beer flavored seltzer.

Big Miller Lite fan here but I'm not picky and Bud Light/Coors Light taste pretty darn close.

If its big money beer than I'm all for a Pale Ale/Summer Ale. Had some Goose Island or sumin while in Chicago that was mighty tasty.

You gotta love blondes :D
