I only buy Monster Cable from Best Buy.

You can argue about the cables...but throwing the word "Mac" in there just makes you sound ignorant. Besides the OS, which Windows works just as well to those who actually know what they are doing, the hardware is nothing more than an overpriced PC...I don't care if their laptops are made from aluminum, the electronics are just as likely to break as they are in a plastic PC laptop. They are in no way more sturdy or unlikely to cease perfect function.

And I still hold my position on cables...all of them have copper cores, all of them are shielded enough to resist average amounts of interference (maybe Monster Cables will have less static if a EMP goes off, either way youre fucked) and all of them function the same. Try to prove that my 50 cent ethernet cable has worse performance than your 50 dollar ethernet Monster Cable.

ITS ALL THE SAME!

are you special?

I laugh at people who buy voodoo speaker cables like this popular douche company below:

http://www.mapleshaderecords.com/audioproducts/speakercables_hub.php

Their site reads like a parody thread!

>>Laying speaker cables, interconnects, and AC power cords on an artificial fiber carpet will immediately dull the sound of your stereo. And that’s true for all makes and models, not just our Clearview wires. Unfortunately, the carpet is a huge mass of low quality insulation (dielectric). It absorbs and smears energy from the field around the wire. The effect is pretty grim, making music sound both dulled and harsh. A simple, ear-tested solution is to raise the cables off the carpet by at least 8 inches. That’s exactly what our good-looking, maple Triad (designed by Marcia Bauman) does.

Their description of the virtues of maple is even better:

Of course there is a Calamazoo and Timbucktoo...they are (were) cheap knockoffs of Kalamazoo and Timbuktu. Kind of like those cheap knockoffs of Monster Cable. Anway Calamazoo and Timbucktoo were so shady and fly-by-night that both cities were nuked from orbit just this morning. 🙁

And as far as your suggestion to try "Pear Cable", Ill have to assign a team of researchers to investigate the value of said cables....as soon as I can afford a team of researchers.

Well, if they were nuked from orbit, then there "is" no Calamazoo and no Timbuctoo after all 🙂

PS, maybe you can get a discount on researchers from Calamazoo? I hear they are homeless now and really desperate for work!

is that serious business?

I have some Monster cables that were thrown in free when I purchased my TV. If they had not been free I would have just purchased the ones that looked the same but cost half the price. I seriously doubt the quality is twice is good so I am sure as hell not going to pay twice as much.

Well, half as much as monster cable is still 5x as expensive as monoprice .... so you're still overpaying 🙂

I am one of those people who truly appreciates great cable. Monster Cable is just a low priced crappy product for those not really into great sound.

My cables are made only from elemental copper found high in the Andes Mountains. It is smelted in a crucible that was used once and discarded.

No crappy guage measurements for me. I use 6 inch think cables that have to be individually bent my a master copper worker, on site in my home.

Then Lockheed engineers come and encase my cables in EMP nuclear blast rated sheathing. Sure its bulky. You must make sacrifices for great sound. In fact my speakers will still be playing pure, unadulterated sound right up to the point they reach 2000 degrees fahrenheit from a 1.2 megaton nuclear blast located 3 feet from my speakers.

Some people might think 30 million dollars or so is overkill, but come the nuclear holocaust I will get great sound at least a couple of milliseconds longer than my neighbor. Who, by the way, has cheapo Monster Cables.

Except, go look up the melting point of copper. it's not 2000 degrees.

But Keith, when you pay twice as much for something you can always rest assured you are getting twice the value. Now you might be wondering, "Well, Felix, what if I simply paid twice as much for the cheap cables? Will I still be getting twice the value?" Simply put, no. The laws of value do not apply to knockoffs, unfortunately. :'(

I have my monster cables just laying in my living room. I'm waiting for a monster TV to hook it up to, since my Samsung LCD is definitely not able to handle such perfect signals. 🙁

Ah, clearly you are not one of the superior people who know that if you pay enough for a really great cable it has a much higher melting point.
So sad.

Now don't even get me started on how important it is to replace your Monster Cables every three years.
After even moderate use the electrons wear out. Everyone knows this.

i think rappers know more than the OP
To try and break that jinx, Monster has partnered with rapper Ludacris and will be releasing an HDS mix of his 2008 album Theater Of The Mind. Ludacris himself graces the stage and makes some rather remarkable comments, none more so than this: “I've been a fan of Monster Cable for a very long time. To partner with my man here is amazing to me.” I guess it qualifies as tech bling.

Ludacris is a well respected member of the "rap-tech" community and as such, his opinions are well regarded. Thus, he decided to partner with Monster Cable and throw his support behind the industry leader. Ludacris only endorses the best, and everyone would do well to heed the advice of this rap icon.

I have solid gold conductors in the wires going to my toaster. The toast I get out of there now is the perfect shade I desire.

nobody I know uses crap cable. Canari and mogami are the best. Hand soldered with silver solder but if you want to think that you are using the best please feel free 🙂

Thumbs up for mogami. I use those cables for my guitar. They make monster cables look like cheap crap.
