I'm interested in this... Any link to the 100 pack of CDR's? I'm only able to find the 50 pack on the website by searching on "spin-x"...

Also, can anyone speak as to if this drive is a good one or not?

Kinda answered my own answer on the drive...

PCWorld says it's a great performing drive, just that tech support and documentation lacks a little. ATer's don't need documentation and tech support on a cd burner. :)

I have this drive, and I think the performance is pretty decent. The drive does tend to get incredibly hot after several hours of continuous use, but for most people I doubt that's going to be a problem.

Before everyone starts dreaming about this having Plextor or Lite-on or Mercedes Benz guts or whatever: IO Magic is just the reseller, and this particular drive is made for them by Lite-On, Acer, Aopen and BTC. From what I've read on the forums, there is no way to tell from the exterior of the box which is which. I purchased a drive, and it was an Acer. I took it back to a different store and exchanged it, and got a BTC. Exchanged again, at yet another store, and got another Acer.

Obviously, Lite-On is what you'd really like to get here. But if you're set on getting lite-on, be aware that you may have to exchange it several times before you hit on one.

<< For $3 more ($54.99) you can get the CenDyne 32x12x40 drive. >>

How's about telling us how to do this, big guy? :)

Yup! But you forgot to count 100 CD-Rs too. In my opinion the difference between 24x and 32x is just a few seconds off.

You're only buying the CDRs to get the order over $100. If you don't need CDRs or want to buy a better brand of CDRs, then it's only $3 more for a 32x (rebadged Lite-on or mitsumi) drive.

24X CDRW (Possible Lite-on) + 100 CDR = $52 after $30 MIR

32X CDRW (Possible Lite-on) + 0 CDR = $55 after $30 MIR

The difference in terms of burning speed is just a few seconds between these two burners.

Then you do the math which one is a better deal! ;)

D'oh!

Thanks... *sheepish grin*

Funny that they didn't show up by searching, though. :)
