'The ONLY type you should buy for making DVD-Video copies is the DVD-R format. The other formats (DVD+R, DVD+RW, and DVD-RW) are fine for burning data, but as video DVDs, they are not compatible with many devices such as many home DVD players and many Macintosh computers. Do not listen to anyone who tells you different; the fact that DVD-Rs are more compatible than DVD+Rs has been proven over and over again. ' -- Reference from http://www.rip.corusa.com/dvd_00.htm
Wow! I came back to staples and get 2 more!

This DVD drive did not work correctly and I found out that the Model is end with DD not MD as said on the box. I brought it back to staples and said wrong Item in the box because the DD is $10 less. Staples found out that it is true and let me replace a Memorex with $30 rebate credid to this unit! (- 12% credit also!)

I bought the same one but without the 12%. Installed it in my SC 420. The DVDs that I have burnt are the ghost images of the system but did not have any problem. I used KHypermedia 4XDVD+Rs from OfficeMax.
