I/O error

Help!

I am building my first pc and I keep getting the following error when I try to boot from my floppy or CD "I/O error insert new new sysytem disk"

Any ideas ? I have check that the cable is is plugged in corectly .

What type of system are you trying to build? Are you sure the stiffy and cd-rom is bootable?
