Wow, I don't know if I'll ever go back to dial-up ever!! This connection is so fast, the uploads speed stink (they promise 16Kb/sec, but I'm only getting like 10. Still, I was downloading Morpheus, took 4 seconds. It started out at 500KB/sec then went down to 200kb/sec where it stayed for the remaining time. Dang, I love Sprint Broadband so far.
Too bad my dad needs to network the computers over the weekend while I'm gone so I can use the connection too 🙂

I feel your pain. I had 28.8 for EVER (Same reason), once I moved into town from the rual area I started getting like 48 something. It was like getting broadband. HOW CRAPPY IS THAT!!

I feel the same way. Whenever I go to someone's house who has 56k, I am amzazed by the speed. Being that I have ethernet at school, coming home is painful. I have auto-load images turned off and I don't bother with anything other then simple surfing and IMing.

Lord Jezo, ever heard about shotgunning modems? You need to see if your ISP supports it. after that you need an extra phone line, modem, and your running at 28.8x2. I used this for years until jumping to cable.
 
Shotgun Technology sux...I have to setup my old man's computer all the time and he lives in the country and swears by the #$%(ing shotgun modem. It is a total pain in the ass to configure...thank god it is an ISA modem because he is gonna be screwed soon in his upgrading future 😀

oh I just got broadband last week thought it would never come to my city...but I guessed wrong. I download around 60K/sec and upload around 30K/sec

ausm, sorry to here you had problems with it but for me it was the most simple thing I ever installed. Used it in three different systems with about five or six different types of modems. Would do it again in a second if I needed too.

He said he has sprint broadband, i know sprit has that wireless setup and i think they have DSL too. If he has the wirless pings still won't be as low as say cable or DSL

kool, heh ive had dsl for like a year, yesterday i finaly ran the ethernet wires under the carpet and very neatly so u cant see them,...lol im a lazy boy.
 
Yeah, I just got Broadband installed today so I haven't routed it to my computer (in the other room) yet. 🙁 I'll be away for the weekend too. That makes it stink even more :Q
Oh well, I already downloaded my full family reunion 😀
