I have a nice 15.6" touch screen laptop ... but I never use the touch screen ...

I thought I would use it sometimes a bit like my Samsung Tab S2 tablet ... love it ...my tablet

but I guess with laptops it's different?
I love the convenience of the keyboard and the mouse ...

I GUESS I AM ASKING .. WHAT ABOUT YOU?

* maybe it's just me and I am old fashioned and am not used to it?
* not taking full advantage of new technology?
* or my screen is just to big and it's too bulky...

I can move my fingers/hand an inch in every direction while using a precision pointer, or I can move my entire arm and mash the screen... Laziness wins.

From a "oh cool" point of view touch screens are neat I guess. From a usability point of view, nothing beats the mouse and keyboard. It's like trying to replace the steering wheel in a car with something "more modern" like voice activation. "turn left" "turn right" "turn slightly left then back right to avoid that pot ho" SHIT! "Ignition off. Call .... Nine...One... One" as your car is wrapped around a hydro pole and you got 7200 volts traveling through the chassis of the car.

I use it all the time for scrolling up and down. So much better than kb or trackpad. Zooming in and out is more intuitive than ctrl+
Feels awkward when using a laptop without one, like a mac. I touch the screen and nothing happens, forgetting not all laptops are made equal

I have a Dell XPS Touch 15 and like the touchscreen. I don't use it a lot but sometimes it's great to be able to scroll and zoom around a webpage with the touchscreen for sure.

I don't really touch my screen that much unless I am wiping it off.

Tablet around the house, mouse and keyboard for actually doing stuff on my laptop.

I have both, one isn't exclusively better than the other.

Tablets are for media consumption and mouse and keyboard are for work/creation/input.

all the time on my chromebook. maybe because it's a smallish screen 11.6" and can kinda use it as a tablet. thinking about getting a 13.3" and wonder if it'll be just as easy

I have some 15" asus laptop somewhere in the house. It was pretty thin and I added a 1tb SSD to it. I used the touch screen once, played some steam games, now its on my floor collectiong dust. Then I got a Dell venue pro 11 and the pen. It too is collecting dust somewhere under my bed. Then I got a Lenovo Y700 17.3" laptop, no touch screen and plays games great as its a gaming laptop. Touchscreens are great for tablets, useless for a laptop. And no, tablets are NOT a laptop replacement no matter how much apple tells you so.
