I really have enjoyed Oblivion so far, I am about 80 hours into it. But, now I'm playing NWN2. I guess I'm the opposite, FPS never were that fun to me (with the exception of CounterStrike and TFC). Different strokes...

Oblivion is a great game. You may want to install Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul as it can make things more fun and adds a little variety.

As for running Oblivion on a 7800gt, I have one oc'd to 480/1100 with an opty 175 oc'd to 2.6ghz (used to have an oc'd 3500+ (2.6ghz)) and 2gb ram and it ran fine with HDR on but with grass completely off. Everything else was at its highest or near highest at 1280x1024. Didn't really notice a difference between the 3500+ and 175, maybe less interruptions in the background.

Yea it was the grass that rendered all crappily, so maybe I needed to turn grass off. Any way, my 7800GT is overclocked about the same, and my opteron 146 (single core) is running at 2.8 and it just didn't run adequetely for me. I thought it should of ran better but this game seriously made my comp seem slow.

I also think it had to do with the fact that nVidia's drivers had to be updated - I remember reading that a couple weeks after Oblivion came out the newest nForce drivers made improvements and of course - thats what always happens. I just didn't play the game any after the first week.

I got addicted to the new Zelda, the only way for me to overcome it was to beat the game, which I did last night and am now a free man.

To which I reply that a) I'm smart enough not to spend money on a game that has a monthly fee, and b) yea, I may love it and yea, I may get addicted to - which is all the more reason that I'm not even going to try it. You know cocain may be a blast too, and just like with WoW - I'll never know.

Way to generalize, hell I am in a Naxx clearing guild and I spend less time on it than my GF does watching TV on weeknights and I still find time to scuba dive and race RC cars.

And how much TV is that? Too much I imagine, besides if you truly spend such a small amount of time playing then your not getting your $15 a month worth. And even at 1 hour a day for an entire year, thats still WAYYY too much time to spend on a single game - not to mention that the $150+ you've spent is too much to. I could go on....

But seriously, to each his own - I just like variety and not paying monthly for a game.
