The REAL "Misssion Accomplished"

Americans believing $2.63 is "cheap" gas.

Sheeple are so gullible

$2.63 is cheap gas when everything else around it is more expensive. It's all relative.

Or go talk to a European.

Yep

Eh, if it hits $3.00 or more for the cheapest stuff you can get I'm going to stop driving my blazer (which gets 21 or 22 mpg if I'm lucky) and drive my dad's intrepid (35mpg) or mom's lumina (32mpg)

LOL not that I'm calling shens but 35mpg on an Intrepid? Damn give me some of that magic gas

large SUV's with the windows down (AC off) trying to save as much gas as possible.
Mind you that temps in this area hover in the 95-97 range with high humidity as
well. Gee lets see, poor fuel economy, plummeting resale value, high insurance,
and large payments. Glad I dont own one!

I thought studies had disproven that driving with your AC off doesn't save gas much at all due to the aerodynamics of vehicles these days.

I get 2-3 mpg more in my car (04 mazda6s) with the AC turned off. Stupid climate control keeps the AC on all the time though.

Wow, $3.08 per gallon of 91. I just filled up $2.85 for 91 in Los Angeles.

He's in Newport Beach. Whaddya expect, Mercedes and Excursion owners to use CHEAP gas?!?!?!?!

i wonder, when the gas price goes up here in the states, does it also go up in other country?

Well since the price that is actually changing is the price per barrel before it is refined then yes. Though we haven't been living in a fuel bubble for 50 years so our change is far less significant. What's it like to actually have to pay a reasonable price for fuel for once?

I found a station last night to fill up at 2.53 and thought it was a smoking deal. Then again every other station I drove by last night was selling it at 2.59, so it's all relative.

🙁 I do, still owe 16 grand on mine and it's going down in value more and more because of this crap.

But my motorcycle I should be picking up this week at least gets 55 mpg city and about 60 highway.

As a person living near Amsterdam, Netherlands (see the link provided above), everybody shut the fvck up.

Just because Europeans allow their governments to rape them on gas taxes doesn't mean we should be happy about high oil prices.

Europeans pay the SAME for oil and gas that we do. The price is higher at the pump because they allow their governments to ass-rape them on taxes. While Americans pay an average of 40 cents a gallon in taxes, Europeans pay double the cost of a liter of gas in taxes or more.

And dmcowen674's ignorance isn't any better. Oil is a commodity, and one entity has overwhelming control over the price of that commodity: OPEC. But dmcowen674 will continue blaming Bush and "Big Oil." The true irony is that he calls other people "sheep."

No. Why should we be content with high oil prices because your government ass-rapes you on gas taxes?

Yes, but they have free universal healthcare!

Once it hits $5.00 I'll start bitching and whining 🙂
 I think a lot of people are bitching by association. It's the ones who drive 100miles a day who should really be concerned about spending so much at the pump. A lot of others should barely feel that paying a few dollars extra every week or two strains their wallet.

Heh - I have a 90 mile RT commute. My cars average about 25 MPG on a good day.

Thats a good point actually, you are getting rising fuel costs without the benefits we get. ::worlds smallest violin::

Your prices are rising as well.

Are your "benefits" going up with them? Of course not.

Our prices have risen in cents not dollars. Go back to paying for your healthcare fool.

Then your government is offsetting the cost by cutting the percentage per liter you pay in taxes. Again, oil is a commodity. Your oil companies aren't getting it for less than any other oil companies are.

And yes, thank you very much. I'd much rather pay for MY health care and not everyone else's. I'd also much rather have my choice of doctors and no waiting lists.

Freedom beats nanny-state socialism any day.

WHAT? RossMAN will actually pay $5 for something?

Tried to pricematch gas stations yet? Coupons? Rebates?
