Oh yeah another big reason--she won't even bring to the floor bi-partisan legislation that she knows would pass but doesn't want them to because they go against her far-left agenda. Which goes against the entire purpose of the democratic process.

I think the reason why most republicans despise her is because of her vehement opposition to the war, and her technically illegal act of traveling to and consorting with foreign leaders in an attempt to undermine the president.

Why is it that when a member of the same party does it people say "Good for them, helping set the course of international diplomacy?" but when its the other party it's an attempt to undermine the Presidency?

Let me ask you this, have 2 countries ever resolved their problems and differences by refusing to talk to each other?

Please refresh my memory, when is the last time a republican went to a foreign country whom is an ally of our enemy and give them aid & comfort? (I'm not being sarcastic, there may have been a case of this happening that I can't recall)

I have no problem with talking with other countries in the right circumstances. What I do have a problem with is when the President's public policy is not to negotiate with terrorists and their supporters, and then opposition party members go negotiate with them behind the President's back to further their own political agenda.

Now I like her a lil bit more =)

Someone had to do that and show we are NOT a country of George Bush's

so you would be fine with a Republican going to talk with foreign leaders trying to undermine Obama?

Because as a conservative that would disgust me. I don't like Obama, but he will be our president this January. And I don't want any republicans undermining him to other countries like that.

Apparently, she's ultra-divisive because she's all the Repubs here at work can talk about.

Since I don't know much about her, I really can't speak to the subject.

Before President Obama she was the figurehead of socialism in this country. Simple as that.

No different than Democrats hating every single Republican leader.

They really should reinvent themselves, huh? They took a real beating last night. Thump, thump thump. Has there ever been a Republican woman with 1/2 the power of Pelosi? I can't think of one.

Yeh, well, I didn't model my nom de plume after a fictional character who "punishes evildoers", either...

If , as Marx pointed out, that religion is the opiate of the masses, then talk radio is the crack cocaine... mix the two for a really dangerous and whacked out combo...

Which pretty much explains the so-called conservatives of today... and their knee-jerk derision and hatred for anything deeper than Sarah! worship...

OH, OH GOD you're so right, because training and financing people for a coup works so much better, especially when a few years down the road you can just call them a terrorist and asassinate / invade their country, cause thats the HONEST thing to do.

So Pelosi travelling to Syria to talk to people somehow equates to "aid and comfort"?

And in answer to your question, "when is the last time a republican went to a foreign country whom is an ally of our enemy and give them aid & comfort?", the answer is 2007... when David Hobson (R-OH) joined Pelosi and friends on their Middle East tour.

But your argument is based on the faulty premise that going and talking to someone equates undermining an existing policy. Ignoring people isn't a policy, it's self-delusion. You cannot hope to find a middle ground, which is the basis of diplomacy, without discussion.

And I'd like to point out that now all of a sudden Bush is interested in talking to Syria.

I voted for Obama AND I think Pelosi is a horrible representative... so all of your stereotypes are as stupid as you are.

I think the answer the OP is looking for (and me too) is why is she horrible. I just realized myself that I dont like her, and yet I dont know why. I really hate the partisaned speach she made before the first bailout bill that pissed off all the reps... Not a good time to be a partisaned ass... But other than that, what did she do that sucks so badly?

Agreed. This is the only complaint I have about her, but I'm not an avid follower or anything...

Because she represents an ultra liberal constituency the Republicans use it to bash her.
The reall secret is that she was elected to her house leadership position because she has followed a centrist course and has led the House to the middle.

ok, so she's more liberal than a normal Dem... what has she really done, though?

she has followed a centrist course and has led the House to the middle
And she has not used her position to push the agenda of her California constituency

Could you say that a bit louder? I can't hear you over the sound of how awesome I am.

That is so sig worthy. :D

Thank you for your 'insightful thoughts' on religion and talk radio and your stereotyped view of conservatives who are all about "knee-jerk derision and hatred for anything deeper than Sarah! Worship".

I can't help but wonder how an 'intelligent' person becomes so blind to their own bigotry, ignorance, and intolerance of others who are not like-minded. It appears that I may have made an assumption with absolutely no basis in fact. My apologies.

I don't understand the right's obsession with Pelosi either. She's actually very centrist and pragmatic-for a California liberal. Were she a man, I don't thing you'd hear anything like it.

Bad news for righties: Pelosi Defeats Cindy Sheehan To Win 12th Term
With all precincts reporting, preliminary election results showed House Speaker Pelosi with 72 percent of the vote. Sheehan, who appeared on the ballot as an independent, garnered 17 percent support.

Wow, 72 percent of the vote, she must be doing a good job for her constituents.

Actually, Pelosi is an honorable and decent person compared to some of scumbags who have preceded her.

Are Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh to blame for Cho's massacre at Virginia Tech?
Not to be outdone in carpetbag demagoguery, Newt Gingrich declared that 40 years of liberalism has caused society to get mean and nasty. Liberalism is responsible for young people losing their souls by playing violent video games. "We don't have any discussion about what's happened to our culture because while we're restricting political free speech under McCain-Feingold,(The Bipartisan Campaign Reform Act of 2002 that regulates campaign financing) we say it's impossible to restrict vulgar and vicious and anti-human speech," proclaimed Gingrich.

Gingrich has a solid history of blaming liberals for the actions of deranged individuals. Back in 1994 there was white Susan Smith drowning her three young children in South Carolina and, in typical liberal fashion, blaming it on random crime by a black man. Gingrich quickly asserted that he thought ?that the mother killing the two children in South Carolina vividly reminds every American how sick the society is getting and how much we need to change things. . . . The only way to change is to vote Republican."

Then there was Columbine. Gingrich blamed that slaughter on a then mere 35 years of liberalism. Using Gingrich?s logic, the increased body count at Virginia Tech is therefore due to the additional years of predatory liberal culture since Columbine. The only problem is that somebody has failed to tell George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, the GOP and the religious right that they have been presiding over and promoting liberal culture since Columbine. The same holds true before Columbine for Richard Nixon, Spiro Agnew, Henry Kissinger, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush, the Moral Majority, the Contract with America crowd, and the vast right wing conspiracy.

After Columbine Gingrich said ?to the elite of this country, the elite news media, the liberal academic elite, the liberal political elite ? I accuse you in Littleton of being afraid to talk about the mess you?ve made and being afraid to take responsibility for the things you have done, and instead foisting on the rest of us pathetic banalities because you don?t have the courage to look at the world you have created.?

Take for example Tom Delay?s dandy reasoning about Columbine:
"Guns have little or nothing to do with juvenile violence. The causes of youth violence are working parents who put their kids into daycare, the teaching of evolution in the schools, and working mothers who take birth control pills."
