I'm pretty sure when I detassled corn, it was for minimum. Which is crazy because I've scantly worked as hard since.

wow that brings back memories, your triceps hurt like hell the day after?

I also put up hay, mowed lawns, picked beans, delivered news papers, shoveled snow, all before the tender age of 15 when I got a job at a restaurant for 2.65 hr.

I was pretty much sore all over, but my hands were the most sore.

Sucks when you wake up in the morning at 1/4 to 6 and hit the fields. By the time your first row is done, the previous day's bandaids are falling off from the dew and from pulling tassles. Within a 1/2 hour, your blisters are exposed and you just keep right on pulling. After a couple days you just have some nice callouses (sp?) on your hands.

I really hated waking up to wet corn leaves brushing my face. Thankfully I had a mad crush on one of the crew leaders, and at the tender wacking age of 15 that can really be an inspiration to make it to the pickup stop each day :)

Started at $7.31/hr 3 years ago, up to $7.56/hr now. Was nice making $2 more than my friends back in high school, but now it's just annoying that they won't pay me more. Oh well, that's chump change compared to what I get for my IT work.

I made less than minimum at my first job flipping burgers at A&W. $1.25/hr. (1973)

The owner got away with it claiming that there wasn't more than 2 people over 18 working there, but there was.

I've only had one job, which I started out at 7 bucks an hour. I'm now making 11.65 an hour with my bachelor's degree. College was pointless.
