I'm getting a labtop and is a 5400 rpm okay will it like make a alot of diff if i get a 7200rpm instead? And what does SE mean in ATI MOBILITY? RADEON® X600 SE PCI-E x16 with 128MB DDR SDRAM? I'm thinkin its means slower edtion which pisses me off.

Means "Second Edition" but yea that usually means worse as compared to "pro" or "xt".

Was unaware you could even get 7200 rpm drives in laptops yet.

OK...

5400 is probably fine for a lappy. 7200 is faster, but it will suck up power and produce more heat.

I though SE was "special edition". Anyways, it is usually the lower end model. That card is probably fine ifor light gaming at lower resolutions... Slower edition is probaably accurate...

Your CPU/mobo will only support DDR or DDR2. They are not compatible with each other. What are the full specs on the computer?

It depends on what you do with that laptop. If you are gaming... I wouldn't want a 5400 drive, especially not in HL-2. The whole power sucking heat producing monster theory that people believe about 7200 drives has been debunked several times.

Go with a 7200, you will notice a sharp difference in performance for games, and you will lose hardly any battery life. If you do lose any you'll gain it back in load times (more time playing less time waiting) As far as heat... don't even think about it much less worry about it.

As far as the RAM speed, DDR2 would be better, but it's not a huge deal if you chose a rig w/o it.

Oh and BTW.... it's a laptop not a labtop.

I think Hitachi makes a 7k60 for Laptops. Its a really good really fast 7200 RPM Hard drive.
