i want to ship a digital camera out to the philippines. called fedex and found its about $90. sure seems expensive, on top of that there will be a customs fee. does anyone know on what this is based on? is it based on the value of the product? ive heard if i mark it off as a 'gift' they dont charge anyone. any advice would be helpful.

thanks

I know a guy going to the Philippines later this month that will take care of it for you for $80. Ship him the box and he re-ships it once he lands, no customs.

Go to the post office, I've shipped a package to the Philippines for around $20, and it's cheaper if you don't need it there quickly.
