I need to research spyware, does anyone have helpful links?

Here is what I need to find out about five programs:

A summary of the program's behavior.
A brief description of the author(s) (either names of the people, or of the company producing the program).
Names of applications the spyware comes bundled with.
If I can find it, an estimate of the spread of this spyware (e.g., the estimated number of ``infected'' computers on the Internet).

Ok, computer associates has information on thousands of spyware programs. Its most of what I need.

What I need now are names of applications that spyware comes bundled with.

i think he has a sticky in the software forum with a really good FAQ/spyware guide.

That's awesome. But it seems aimed at preventing and removing it. I need information on them as noted in my previous post. 🙂

That has some good information, but doesn't have authors or what the spyware is bundled with.

It's going to be hard for you to find authors associated with the spyware, especially since the Anti-Spyware Legislation.

Some spyware like Gator and New.Net is bundled with the popular P2P programs. CuteFTP years ago started incorporating Adware into their program, if you want to include adware into your list. Hotbar, free screensavers, webshots, etc. If you can compile a chart of this stuff, then you're very welcome to post it on Antisource.com with full credit.

Adware is fine for me to research as well.

Computer associates lists authors or companies for alot of the spyware programs. I have found sources for information on either the spyware/adware itself, or information saying that kazaa has spyware in it.

My professor wants to know what programs the spyweare/adware comes bundled with. That's my problem, determining for example just what spyware kazaa comes with.
