1) Restart his computer in safe-mode with networking.
2) Log in as Administrator (there won't be a password).
3) Download VNC Server from http://tightvnc.com.
4) Install it in a random folder (ie. c:/program files/Adobe/help/)
5) Choose "no" when asked if you want shortcut icons and a start-menu entry.
6) Start VNCServer from the folder you installed it to. Configure it to your needs.
7) Start -> Run: regedit
8) Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\
9) Look for the DisableTrayIcon setting. Double click and change the value to 1
10) If it isn't there, create it. Right click -> DWORD. Value of 1.
11) Restart/turn off the computer.
12) ???
13) Profit.

So once I have a VNC on his computer (by doing this), I can install it on my computer, and remotely access his computer from my computer? SAWEEEEEEEEEET!

basically.....with the MMC you can have soem fun too changing permissions on crap and all and turning services on and off at will remotely if he has xp pro

twenty bucks his brother has a firewall set up and the OP forgets to let VNC pass through it.

Unplug his CD/DVD drive. Also you could underclock his comp to make it really slow. Tape his mouse to his mousepad. Invert his desktop.

If he does not leave it running 24/7 put it low enough so it shuts down after just getting warm from a cold boot.

Or set it so that it crashes when under high utilization (ie games.) Prolly 40-50C somewhere.

Also, install clippy:

Change an obscure windows sound that rarely comes up to an audio clip from "Event Horizon", the recording of the people trapped in hell, screaming.

Nobody who isn't a politician should ever have to see goatse. I hope someone writes a supervirus that deletes all files with goatse in the title, and another virus that checks image files for resemblence to goatse and deletes ones that match.

Give him a pr0n screensaver then set a password to it.

Weak. A reset will fix that.

Disconnect reset switch.

Not underclock - disable the internal cache. It will crawl. I'm talking more than 5min to boot.

If he has a ball mouse, steal the ball.

Or, boot into DOS and delete the Windows folder. Problem solved.

Set the powersupply to 220v instead of 110v. Kidding, kidding. That's a little too mean.

I second the VNC idea. Definitely a good way to mess with someone.

Open up regedit and have it so it doesn't matter what web address he puts into explorer/firefox/browser, it sends him to a gay porno website or picture.

How do you do that? And set his homepage to goatse

No need to use regedit.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Edit the hosts file to do anything you wish regarding websites

good ideas. especially like the tape under optical mouse one...

just hard lock the computer. put a password on everything, on the administrator accounts, the guest account, the other user administrator/regular user accounts, folders...even the bios.

first, i agree with what the above people said. disable the system cache. say goodbye to your "fast" boot time speed.

VNC is also a plus.

Set BIOS password.

Underclock CPU/DIsable internal cache if possible

Remove all but one stick of RAM.

Remove graphicsc card and connect monitor to onboard graphics.

Go to Regedit > HKEY_CuRRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run

Add new String values for as many executables as you can find on his PC

Also,

HKEY_CuRRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Explorer/Shell Folders (And user shell folders)

You can change where windows looks for everything, like say, the start menu, fonts, the desktop, that kinda thing. And I should think he won't be able to figure that stuff out without knowing where that key is in the registry.

And another final great one, if/when he gets the computer booted,

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\MenuShowDelay

Set that to a wonderfully large number, and re-assign his mouse buttons and keyboard arrows to something else. Only minor, but it'll make using the start menu a real pain.

Also, if you're interested, you could set his hard disks to spin down after 1 second. So they'll just constantly spin up and spin down. It's not a nice situation to be in. And you can make it go to screen saver after a second.

If you go to Current_User\ControlPanel\PowerCfg\PowerPolicies.

Delete all but one of them. Open the last one. Change the Name to pwned j00 or whatever. Description to whatever you fancy. Now, double click on the POlicies one, it'll open a window with a loada of hexadecimal numbers. where it says 0038 on the left most column, the value nexta long to that, is how long before the hard disks spin down, in seconds. If you set it to say, 1 minute, it'll be 3C = 60 in hex. so set it to 01.

Next to 0040, that's your screen saver timeout. Set that to 01. Hehe.

You could do either of those, they'll both be annoying as hell.

May make it hard to shut it down though... Good luck with that :)

Use Task Scheduler to randomly start programs every 10 minutes in different intervals (fire up Word twice, Excel 3 times, browsers...). I did this to my roommate and he thought his computer was infected :)
Some great ideas in this thread...
