I need to be banned using Shift+Del

Too late to use data recovery software :/

Was making a new folder, moving my album in it, and deleting the old one

For some weird reason perhaps was my fault and perhaps wasn't; after I deleted the original album; I found that the copied album didn't exist in the new album folder.
Now I've lost everything ...

This isn't my first time .-.

I've got used to using Shift+Del instead of Del for ages to conserve disk space for long enough.
For those who don't know Shift+Del bypass the recycle bin so that data are deleted straightly.

that program is AWESOME. i think it was you that recommended it to me when my wd drive decided to corrupt itself. used it as a slave and used getdataback for ntfs to save all my data to a usb drive. while the program worked well, i learned my lesson: make sure the external drive is running usb2 lol! usb1 worked, but for 80gb of data, it took quite some time. anyways, getdataback is good.

The fact is I think it would be too late to recover them cause I was installing some games on it after I realised.
The data would most likely be overwritten already :/
So undelete programs wouldn't work in that case

Undo won't work cause Windows know that's a permanent delete.


I do backup important files. I wouldn't say my photo album is too important but...
I was doing the right thing when I moved the My Documents folder to another HDD so if my Windows failed I can recover My Documents easily/reinatall Windows without overwriting the stuff in My Document
But seems I made a horrible mistake in moving the My Documents folder

This is why it's smart to realize that the recycle bin is there for a reason, and a simple "right click, empty, OK" isn't that much effort to make to keep this benefit working.

hm Recycle bin uses too much system resources that I don't like :/
And I don't like people to be able to recover my deleted files that easily...

Perhaps I have to get into habit of empting it once a day

That's why all of my important stuff is on a server with Volume Shadow Copy enabled. Its better than a backup when your fingers betray your intentions.

If you think the recycle bin uses up too many resources, then you're just uptight about your computing and you should probably get a life. 9 times out of 10 I empty the recycle bin right after I delete some things. It's not that hard and really DOESN'T take up much.
