I am getting a new rig, and it's going in my current case. I am going to buy a new cheaper case to put my old rig in for my parents. the parts are:
-AMD 64 3500+
-MSI k8n neo2 plat.
-1gig of ram
-9800 pro pgu

So I figure the psu needs to be around 350-450 watts. I need the case to be under $50. Do you think that this case with a 350 watt ps will suffice? I don't need anything special. Just something to put my old rig in for my parents.

Wow, you must really hate your parents ;).

InWin makes great cases with decent PSUs, this one looks good.

The Apex is OK, but look at this one - perhaps the best case for the money on the Egg right now. It's the same as the Antec SLK-3000-B inside - not just similar, identical. They also have it in black. Has HDD vibration damping grommets, 120mm fan mounts f/r, rails for optical drives, etc.. Perhaps the door hinges will be stronger as these bezels aren't much derived from the weak Antec ones. The 3000-B has been recognized as one of the most technically correct cases (I call it having the most casitude) for the money on the forums here for a while. As long as they can keep the price within +/-$1.00 of what Provantage sells the 3000-B for (the best price on it has been between Provantage and Amazon for quite a while), this will be in the hunt - I'm tired of looking at the Antec face that's been around since the 3700AMB was introduced...

Well, they are the ones paying for it. That is why I am trying to find the cheapest possible case/psu I can. They aren't even really heavy users anways. But I really need it to be under $50.

Well, if you really have to skimp, check Athenatech on Newegg. They have the same junk-bucket L&C PSU as the Apex, but they may be a bit better built.

The Evercase and InWin linked by nate above are better than most of the others mentioned as they have better PSUs. But they'll price out considerably over $50. shipped.

And don't forget to check the For Sale/Trade section here and your local Craig's List and/or Postaroo classifieds - I just sold my previous case and PSU on Craig's List. It went fast! You should be able to get better stuff than buying new if you're careful. With Craig's List and Postaroo.com you could also save the shipping. And the CompUSA Sunday circular often has a bargain case in it (but then there's sales tax).
. And check ebay for a listing from a seller that's close to you - that's a search option on there. Save sales tax and shipping. The way to go if it works for you. One guy right from my podunk junction town (pop. < 2000) found a case I was selling on eBay - came and picked it up. He's happy, I'm happy - what could be better?

Or any nearby Mom&Pop computer store. They sometimes have cheap new and/or used stuff.

Here's a new one that's 85 miles from you - starting bid: $12., 3 days or so left : Link

I just remembered, PCConnection.com is still in NH, Merrimack I believe. Probably doesn't carry cheap cases though. I haven't checked their site in a long while but aging East Coast hippies/yuppies seldom buy anywhere else - they remember the raccoons... They have an Athenatech with 450W for $52.63 and lots more under $50. (but IDK where they warehouse them) - you'll need to find out if you can pick up. Or maybe shipping will be cheap if from a nearby warehouse.
