I have the wiring in place, but my budget probably doesnt support a 7.2.4 setup right out of gate. I need some recommendations to get me started. Its for a projector for home theater. I am by no means an audiophile, and the theater room is mainly for the kids. I want quality, but I dont need top notch best of the best. Thanks

Do you already have the receiver & projector, or is that included in the 2k?
How big is the space?

I already have the projector. No receiver. The room is 16 or so wide by 25 or so deep

I'm sorry to say this, but a receiver that can support an 7.1.4 setup will blow your budget by $200 by itself. I was going to recommend:
Klipsch - Reference Series 1065833 R-820-F for $700 a pair.
Klipsch - Reference Series Dual 5-1/4 center for $289
Klipsch - Reference 4" 1065836 R-52-C surrounds for $600 for four
Klipsch - Reference Series 12" R-120SW subwoofer for $350

That's $1939 without the receiver, and only one sub. For the receiver, I like the Marantz AV7705. It's $2200 though.
I got the prices from Best Buy, so if you have a Magnolia store near you, you can go see it.

Well what about a reciever that processes 11 channels and I add an amp or 2 later?

I'm sorry, that's a pre-pro that I quoted, and what you would want if you want separate amps. The receiver is the SR8012, and it costs $3000.

You can get a descent budget reciever that supports the 7.2.4 but it would mean you would have to almost settle for speakers that were junk. Even speakers that are a little better than junk will cost you!
