The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien :)

If you've already read it, read it again before seeing the movies to refresh your mind...and if you haven't read it...well WTF? Go read it NOW!!!! :D

<< How about some online magazines? >>

i always find it difficult to follow along from article to article.. i end up picking which ones i read instead of sitting down with a hard copy and just reading everything.. i'll give em a try tho.. and i'll probably hit up the library to check out some books.. if they have any of these.. ill read em

It will take you a week or two to think like a normal person again after reading 'A Confederacy of Dunces'. That is one weird book.

I'm reading "Did Adam and Eve have Navals?" right now; forget who wrote it tho. Its pretty funny, and thought provoking at the same time. Also, if you're into physics, and wonder about the universe and how it was created and stuff like that, may I suggest "Just Six Numbers" by Martin Rees. It discusses the six constants in the universe, and how if they were just marginally off, our universe would not have existed. Heady stuff :)

One Book will satisfy and quench your almost-unquenchable thirst for endless reading material.
One Book will keep you occupied and wondering for weeks; "when will it end?"

The book is:

War and Peace

You will need a back protector when you lift it off the table. You will need toothpicks to keep your eyelids open. You will be busy for weeks! :)

"Demon Haunted World" by Carl Sagan. My absolute favorite book. tagline "Science as a candle in the dark"

Also "Ishmael" - Daniel Quinn. A great outside view of human civilization from an animal's perspective
