i wish i can find my office xp cd... but i can;t

anyone know of any office xp type application that let's me view powerpoint files and has something like MS Word?

i know of that free download program... but is it any good?

any others i can download and use?

I don't know which one you are referring to but I'm using OpenOffice and it does everything OfficeXP can and it's free.

I opened up an MS word document that had a numbered list with open office and it didn't display it properly. It's far from perfect but it's free.

what about opening .doc files?
and can i save a report or something i typed as a .doc document?

use the free powerpoint viewer from microsoft to view ppt files since you don't need to edit them.
