Basic Problem: I have an iPod (generation before the Photo/Videos) and I work outside a lot. I like to listen to music while I work (and so does my coworker) but I feel rude listening to it while he cannot.

We drive one of these around that has 1 Cigarette lighter in it. I would like to find some descent, yet not too expensive speakers that have either long battery life or a CL adaptor. Obviously good volume is a must. I looked at these but Im affraid that the shortness of the cord could pose a problem.

Anyone have any experience or suggestions about these speakers or any others that you can recommend?

I bought a cord at radio shack that turns the headphone jack into a audio version of the rca cords. Just plug them into the stereo and it works.

I use that at home, but I do not have speakers on the toro.

Thats freaking awesome. But considering my 0 knowledge in wiring and the fact the materials without the enclosure are about $250 I think I will pass.

i have the creative travelsound 400

i got it as a gift so i didn't complain. it does sound pretty good and works on batteries. connect to a regular 3.5mm headphone jack.

I have a nice sealed case for the pod so I am good there, the speakers are reviewed as loud laptop speakers. Is that the sound quality we are looking (what do you think about it)?

EDIT: Apparently the Speakers have been discontinued in America :-(
