The sink in my kitchen is clogged. I have no drano and no car to go get some. Do any of you know of a way I can unclog it?

Get a big pot of water boiling, as soon as it's ready pour some baking soda + vinegar down the sink, let it bubble a bit then give it the boiling water chaser. No guarantees but if the clog isn't *too* bad it might do the trick, GL!

Improvization time a la MacGyver.

You'll need:

A wire coat hanger you can bend out of shape. A length of wire works as well

A 12 pack of O'Douls

Actually, post what you have available and I'll figure it out.

I have no wire coat hanger. What kind of wire would work?

I would love to just go to the store and buy some stuff to fix it but I have no car.

Oh, I would SO get banned for posting my first idea... :D

BUT anyway, try the boiling water trick. If that doesn't do it, chant "Unga...bunga...wunga...YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAARRRRCKKKK!!!" and jump up and down 6 times while and do a 360 in midair each time. The SECOND you finish this, call a plumber. Within an short period of time, everything will be fine.

BTW, be sure to ANNUNCIATE while yelling the chants. It doesn't work if you don't pronounce them correctly.

Preferably one that is not live. Basic electrical wire may work. Coaxial cable? Aves2k's cache of non crimped or booted cat5e?

Basically, you want something that is thin enough to go IN the pipe, however flexible enough to get around the pipes, and rigid enough to break up the obstruction.

Do you know whats blocking it?

EDIT: Dont listen to LordMaul. He ate paint chips and lived under power lines as a child. RGN can vouch for me.

First off, they looked like peanut brittle, and I only did it for a few years before I found out they didn't come in "matte black", and "white pastel" flavors. Second, they weren't power lines...well...mommy always told me they were giant licorice sticks...I never managed to get much of a taste, though.

Don't diss the boxes. They're warm in the winter. Especially the monitor boxes...just ask RossMAN.

Something tells me that you did lick them and they were nice and high voltage.

Amanda, what DO you have? I gotta have something to work with.

I just thought they were of the spicy variety...

OK, this is her inventory:

cardboard boxes
vibrator
sink
pipes
computer
TV

There you go. Now what?

Enunciate?

David, sorry about ditching you in the middle of a conv, but you hadn't said anything for a while and parents abruptly jerked me off the comp. Summer's nearly over, back to school soon, uninterupted net time.

In fact, you are online right now, you can get basically anything with the internet and a credit card :)

Ah, that explains it. I thought that you passed out due to blood loss so I got concerned. Nice to see you're still alive after last night though.

I'd bring you draino and Baking soda/vinegar, but Alabama is just too far away. You might try what LM suggested, it has been known to work.
