Ok. I built a computer recently, and for some reason I couldn't get my old hard drive to load Windows. I decided that since my dad could get a copy of Windows XP Pro from work, I'd just install that on a new hard drive (40 gig Maxtor). The thing now is, I want to use the 160 gig SATA hard drive to boot from instead. Is there any way I can completely mirror the hard drive, including all of the opterating system onto my 160 gig SATA drive?

Also, I have about 30 gigs of data from my old hard drive that I need to move onto my 160 gig drive so I can put it back in my old computer (giving it to my sister). Is there any more efficient way to copy all the data other than copy+paste onto the new drive?

Thanks for any info. By the way... I'm stupid when it comes to this kind of stuff, just letting you know beforehand. ;)

You need to use a Drive Imaging program. To name a couple Ghost and Drive Image, these are not free though I think there is some free programs out there that will do this but I'm not for sure since I have alway used Ghost for this.

Doing a copy and paste won't really work because Windows will not boot then, with Windows 9x you could do this and then just sys the drive but not with XP that I have found.
