I use OE to view both my MSN and hotmail accounts, I have a lot of messages in my inbox for hotmail that i would like to keep, but with all the spam it fills up fast. So I was wondering what would be the easiest way to archive these messages? I would prefer to keep them in OE, rather then saved a floppy somwhere. I was wondering if I create a new folder under my hotmail account, will the messages put in that folder be stored on my hard drive rather then on the hotmail server?

you have to move them to the folder where you want them kept.

does OE sort emails? its been awhile since i've used OE but outlook sorts emails maybe you could sort them into a folder and delete the rest of the junk daily??

good luck

What you seem to be wanting is a program that will let you delete files from your POP3 Server BEFORE downloading them. Mail Washer, SpamKiller, and Email Remover all do that - and there are more as well. I use M/W all the time and delete spam before downloading. That is especially important when I am travelling and on dialup on a hotel line paying by the minute.

No, I want to be able to keep some of my messages, without having them use any of my hotmail accounts space. So basically, I want them downloaded from the hotmail server and put in a folder on my computer, preferably within outlook express, in such a way that they use my hard drive space rather then my alloted hotmail space.

cant you just create a local folder on OE and move the messages from hotmail to the local folder?

I thought thats what i did, but I must have doen it wrong, cause the folders I created also appeared on hotmail.com and are still using my hotmail server space.
