I was recently given an old pair of Optimus STS-200 speakers and I accidentally dented the "dome" in the middle of the woofer cone. I've tried using a shop vac to suck it back into shape, but to no avail.
Can you guys give me any suggestions on how to fix it?
I haven't noticed a difference between the dented woofer and the untouched one, sound-wise.
It's just a little OCD I have when it comes to audio equipment. 😀
find a 30awg wire, will be about the size of a human hair , make a hook on the end, push into the dome and pull it back out gently. If done right you can't tell it has been done.
i had this problem before as well. i was able to fix it using the vaccum trick though however the hose alone will not do it.
try using the smallest tapered hose attachment for maximum suction power. you might need to hold it really close.
Use the aspirator s tube...
It works very well.
At a distance of about 1cm the dent will be extracted
without physical contact between the dome and the
aspirator s tube extrimity...
