Actually 2 Taiwanese veggies

1) ???- Chinese beauty
2) A? - "A vegetable"

Anyone know what these are called in English? They look lettuce-like, but I never know how to explain it to people, especially my Cantonese friends who are like WTF is this?

they're both lettuce
iceberg is a ball like lettuce, with the other end of spectrum being leaf lettuce.

1) would be woman from mainland. it looks like a cross between iceberg and left lettuce, i guess it's similar to boston lettuce. it got popular in taiwan for firepot cooking, and due to it being imported from the mainland.... and at the time, there were a lot of mainland hookers getting busted.... it was named that, so the rest is history.
2) leaf lettuce, produced in taiwan.

these terms sound like something i'd hear in a Dong Guan karaoke night club.

anyway, I heard of A?, but certianly, not ??? if it is a veggie.

A choy is pretty yummy and expensive, however by looking at both terms, A? is a slang used to describe hot chicks, not veggies.

??? is not a veggie, like somebody said, it's a slang people in used to described girls from China. ?? is also used to describe girls from Beijing. Shanghai, and the northern region of China.

??? is a slang and was later used also as a slang for this particular type of imported lettuce from china.
