After reseating my memory, I finally got Windows to go on without giving me any BS. It's running fine, I've got the playable demo for Freelancer downloading, and everything is just dandy. But then, out of NOWHERE FOR NO FREAKING REASON, I get a BSOD. I wrote down what it said:
"A Fatal exception OE has occured at 0028:C004282C in VXD VFAT(01) + 00001070"
After jotting it down, I hit the reset button. It went from the POST screen DIRECTLY to a blue Microsoft Scan Disk screen, where it got to 60%, then jumped to 90, back to 85, and finally finished. Got to a Windows loading screen which gave a slight flicker (It did this last time when I started having this problem..). It started to load the desktop, but then gave me an illegal op on "nviz" or something like that, and then back to the above mentioned BSOD. After this cycle occured once more, I reset again and my system began beeping. It was a decently fast paced high pitch, then low pitch, high, then low beep over and over. I remove the CD that I had in the drive, reset again, and now it loads windows fine. This is practically the EXACT same thing that happened previously, and I don't want to have to continue reformatting every other day to remedy my problem. Does anyone have even the SLIGHTEST clue as to how I can fix this, or what the problem might be related to?
System Specs:
Thermaltake Purepower 420 watt Power Supply
Epox 8RDA+ motherboard
AMD AthlonXP 2200+ Processor (Actual clock speed is around 1800)
256 megs DDR 2700 Platinum RAM
eVGA GeForce 4 Ti4600
60GB Maxtor 7200 RPM HDD
Thermaltake Volcano 7+ CPU Cooler at Full Speed
Onboard Audio
HSP56K Micromodem
Thanks abunch, all help appreciated.
