I need some help getting RDP setup on my network ...

Okay here's the situation.

I have Verizon DSL and they gave me a wireless modem/router combo.

I then haev a Linksys WRT54G that I put DD-WRT hacked firmware on and made it into a wireless bridge. I then have my PC hard wired into that bridge.

So far I have tried to forward port 3389 on my modem/router combo to forward to the local IP of my wireless bridge, and then on my wireless bridge I then forwarded port 3389 to my PC's locap IP. That was a no go.

I also tried forwarding port 3389 to the IP of my PC directly from the router/modem combo, and that was also a no go.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Also if I connect locally from a laptop on the bridge by 192.168.1.44 in RDP it connects fine.

update the f/w of the modem, and see if you can put it into "Bridged" mode (i.e. your router will then get your public IP)

There is no way to update the FW on it. The modem/router combo from verizon is pretty limited. It does however let me forward ports and stuff for applications. However I just don't know how to get this working

I don't know the RDP protocol.

But this sounds like a possible NAT issue. What is the IP address of your machine when directly connected to the modem? Is it a 10., 192., 172., address?

How many computers do you want to hook up to the linksys ports? If it is only one, I suggest using the linksys in "client" mode. It can support one computer fine in client mode, and I have used remote protocols across that setup before.
Give the linksys an administrative IP way up out of the dhcp pool. I use the bacardi addresses, starting with .151
hook up the computer, and I prefer assigning the computer a static address when using router like the actiontec. It just takes that variable out of it.
Forward the port in the actiontec, and go completely through all the "advanced setup" pages till you get to the 'save and reboot'.

well I have my Xbox360 and Xbox hooked to the bridge as well, so I need it in bridge mode to get on xbox live with them.
