I need some FlexInstaller help.

I'm trying to use the flex installer to setup clients on 4 PCs for a friend. I have the PCs picked out, I have the user_info.sah file, and I put in the proxy. But the clients don't download WUs or start working when I install them. First off, what is the process name I'm looking for? Second off, do I need to put the http:// in front of the proxy's IP addy? (I've tried it both ways, and it still doesn't work.) Is there something else I should know? (Needing to be logged on as an admin or a shutdown or something?)

These computers could make at least 10WUs a day between them, so I'd really like to get them up.

Thanks,
Swan

What OS? If its Win9x then you'll need a rebbot and run the installer again, if its Win2K, NT, or XP then you'll need a common administrator account password to get it to install on all the machines. I have seen that it might need a reboot on *some* machines if the VB6 hasnt already been installed. Bot should be able to answer that question for us.

All the machines are running Win 2K.

So you're saying I need to log in as the same user (with admin priviliges) and the same password on all the computers before it will work?

you have to be logged in as administrator at the local computer, that administrator account has to exsist on all the PC's so that you'll have rights to install.

Shux: Doesn't he need to be a domain admin? If he's a local admin on one NT/2K box it's not going to give him rights to remotely admin another NT/2K box unless he's logged in with an admin username/password on the local box that's also on the remote box.

Actually if the local admin password is the same on all the machines that will work. But yes preferably Domain Admin.
