I have been getting these phone calls where the person will hang up just as we pick up and say hello. Now we have gotten the number and I would like to know what I can do. Also I need to know where is the (954) area code.

This happens all day as well. We get home and there is 15 messages and they are all hang ups from the same number.

I think that the post office would be able to give you where that area code is.

Call your phone company and ask for some options. We've had this happen with a goddamned auto-talking telemarketer. Your phone company will know what to do.

Our phone company has a service called "Call Trace". Yours probably has a similar feature - look in the front pages of your phone directory.

With Call Trace, you hit *57 after you receive one of the harassing calls. The call is traced and the information is retained by the phone company - not given to you. You then call the phone company's business office, and tell them you've done a call trace and take it from there. I would expect they can take steps to resolve the problem once they have a verified complaint.

Have the phone company block the number. takes 24 hours and you'll be free of the menace.

Sounds like an Auto-Telemarketer to me too.

That's why I don't have a phone line at home anymore. Cellphone and Dialpad.com, that's all I ever need.
