Hey, I'm new here and just needed a question answered if I may.
I read the above sticky, but it didn't answer my question.
Basically, I've decided to build myself a new PC. I'm not new to the building a PC thing, but I've never had to worry as much as I do now about my components.
My specs will be:
ABIT KN8 SLI ATX mobo
Athlon 64 X2 4200+ dual core processor
GeForce 6800GS
1gig of ram
Needless to say, I've put a lot of money in right now. Way more than I can really afford, but hey
Anyway, I need some suggestions on power supplies. I had originally bought this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817255010 to go with my setup, but then I was told (I'm pretty niave about PSU's) that the cheaper the PSu, the more likely it is junk. I went by the few reviews on it on newegg and that's why I originally bought it.
So, needless to say, I'm going to try and cancel it. But if I can't, I'm going to buy a new PSU anyway. I found a Thermaltake 440W PSU for $49.99 (I'm strapped for cash after buying all this stuff) and I'm wondering if that's good enough and powerful enough for me.
If anyone had some good suggestions on what type of PSU I could get for my money (ideally $60 or less, once I get paid...) that will power my new machine, that would be great.
Thanks
