Right on. I was just making the point that one shouldn't go in with the mindset of "I WILL buy a DeWalt today, and nothing else!" Take a look at all the tools in the store, and pick whichever one suits you best.

At Home Depot, nobody is told to sell anything (at least all the ones I have been at). We receive no form of compensation from DeWalt, P/C, or anyone else from selling their tools. We don't care what we sell you, just as long as you buy something

That point was already made earlier in the thread. Just because they are owned by the same company does mean that their quality is at all comparable. Would you compare a Ford Escort to a Lincoln Towncar? The ownership of the company is not what matters. The quality, power, and reliability of the tools is.
