Right on. I was just making the point that one shouldn't go in with the mindset of &quot;I WILL buy a DeWalt today, and nothing else!&quot; Take a look at all the tools in the store, and pick whichever one suits you best.

At Home Depot, nobody is told to sell anything (at least all the ones I have been at). We receive no form of compensation from DeWalt, P/C, or anyone else from selling their tools. We don't care what we sell you, just as long as you buy something ;)

That point was already made earlier in the thread. Just because they are owned by the same company does mean that their quality is at all comparable. Would you compare a Ford Escort to a Lincoln Towncar? The ownership of the company is not what matters. The quality, power, and reliability of the tools is.
