I really think the best thing to do is to tell your family that you are gay. Coming "out of the closet" will ease the burden on you and reduce the stress. Moving forward will be easier. I know you think your son will think less of you but he won't, he loves you.

But, I wouldn't tell anyone at all about you, the gerbil and the Mexican farm worker. No good can come from that.
