my sleep cycle is seriously messed up, I'll be okay for a couple days, then bam ! I can't sleep to save my soul. I'm getting out every day into the fresh air, exercising and so forth and there's nothing really going on here. I can't sleep,I'm restless as hell and none of my usual cures are working :(

My sleep cycle is totally screwed too. I can't seem to get to bed before 3 in the morning and I always have to be to campus by 8 am. I think I am just anticipating finals and getting this semester over with.

Me too. I think it might be the hot weather. I might have to turn on the a/c and see what happens. Or it could be that I am depressed because I didn't hit the lottery. :( :)

try some valerian root. I have some valerian-mint tea, and it smells/tastes like a donkey's ass but it knocks me out.. and very few things make me drowsy.

Try Melatonin. Legal and non-habituating. Do it for 3 days and your sleep cycle will be back to normal.

I may try that because this seriously stinks , I worked nights for years but after getting laid off a year ago had gotten more or less back to a normal sleep schedule. Now it seems like I'm reverting back to a 3rd shift cycle that's killing me during the day :(

Hehe.. Well, if "kitten killing" is just plain out of the question, you could stoke up on caffeine and fire up CivIII and try to win a game in one single shot. That way you can stay up the rest of the night, all day tomorrow, and then go to blissful sleep tomorrow night.

Or not...

actually you don't want me singing - not good at all. Try not going to sleep and you probably will.

Try talking to your doc. Brainstorm a little. Other than that, keep doing what you've been doing. Exercise, eat regular, balanced meals, maintain a schedule, and try to reduce any stress you may be going through.

If you're into aromatherapy, try valerian root oil. It should help you relax and get sleepy/be able to sleep.
You may also want to give meditation a try.

Nope, they are bad for your. Don't drink caffeine, don't exercise right before bed, and don't do anything in your bed except fvck and sleep.
