I like a lot of the movies you mentioned. Some that I would have thrown in:
- 21 Grams: mindfuck of a movie; serious overdose of misery, guilt and redemption. Good shit.
- Cidade De Deus (City of God): Hyper-paced saga of extreme violence, drugs and crime. Pretty sure you might have already seen it.
- Children of Men: not necessarily a great movie but worth it for a few great sequences that you will never forget (if you are a fan of great technical achievement in cinematography and art direction)
And I can't make a 'favorite movies' list without mentioning Good Will Hunting and As Good As It Gets but I guess everyone and their mother has seen them so no point in suggesting/recommending them.
