I need more music.

Now, is should be noted that if there is one thing that makes me hate an album, it's that damn deathmetal growl/scream. GHKFDHGHKSFDHGSDHLKFSDjkfg it's just uncomfortable to listen to. I prefer my music to have musical value to screaming things that I can't understand. In small quantities on a track or two, it's okay. But more than that... No.

My current list:
Nightwish
Within Temptation
L'ame Immortelle
Epica
Xandria
Lacuna Coil
Leaves' Eyes
Mortal Love
If you havn't heard of these bands, you're an uncultured fvck 😛

Listening to the same 500 tracks over and over gets annoying after awhile. This is especially a problem for me since I keep music playing 24/7... But it seems like there isn't too much that fits my tastes these days.

They're not really in the same vein as those bands, but if you've never listened to Therapy? I would check them out.

I highly recommend Tool, really dark and heavy music without the growling. They're definitely on the best metal/prog rock bands post 90's.

Also if you're in the mood for trying something different check out the hiphop group The Gravediggaz. Yeah, yeah I know you're thinking rap sucks, but these guys are pretty unique in their approach. At least check em out on Allmusic.com and listen to a snippet or two.

Theatre of Tragedy
Nevermore
Opeth (the stuff from Damnation has very little growling but their other albums have more)
Symphony X
Dream Theater
Edguy
Rhapsody

give me a minute and I'll remember some more.

Good choice on Opeth, excellent music and compositions

All the bands I've always meant to look up but could never remember their names when I went to do it.

Again
If you havn't heard Maiden...Go for it.

Opeth for sure. There is growling, but the music is simply amazing.
Blind Guardian
Symphony X
Theater of Tragedy
Tool
Type O Negetive(WOAAH!)

Trying my best not to list stuff filled with death metal growls, but it's hard since thats 99% of what I listen to.

The Gathering <-- (you won't like their first CD ... Always, but give one of their other releases a shot)
Liv Kristine <-- Solo project, she was in Theatre of Tragedy, I forget what band now
Tiamat <-- good goth ban
Inkubus Sukkubus <--- ehh I'm not a big fan, but they are goth, and they have a female singer
The Sins of Thy Beloved <--- You may want to give them a listen, they have a mix of female vocals and death metal growls

Iced Earth, make sure you check out the Civil War tracks on The Glorious Burden CD. (maybe they're extra tracks?)

a little different:
Ayreon _ The Human Equation
Gamma Ray
Avantasia - (with singer from Gamma Ray?)

I love her voice. Cradle of Filth's song Nymphetamine is my new favorite song because she's in it. I don't even like CoF but this song is pure genius.

If you like her voice, I also recommend Melanie Wills. She's in the band One True Thing, which is indie rock as opposed to metal, but she does some vocals for the metalcore band From Autumn to Ashes. She has a huge solo part in Short Stories With Tragic Endings that gives me goosebumps every time.
