Thanks for the suggestions, found a few good bands.

I go through phases, like for the last few weeks it was grunge that did it for me, and in two weeks it might be classic rock then back to metal.

May want to try Nickelback as well. Not personally a fan, but more pop-rockish too like the ones you liked above. Also check out Seether, Alter Bridge.
