ive been working in houston for a over a month and havent gotten paid yet...first paycheck comes this week, but that money basically will just go to pay off what i have been doing for the last month.

then my next paycheck will come near the end of the month, but that will basically go to rent for sept.

so i basically dont get to have fun untill i go back to LA, when i will be getting 2 paychecks in sept.

i guess it will be good in sept., but for now it sux!
 
i dont mind being poor, but being poor in a city where u dont have a computer except at work and only know people u met since getting here...and not even having cable tv at the apartment u are staying...makes the days go by kinda slow

And what kinda s#itty job pays you once a month? Bleh! But at least your cost of living in Houston isn't nearly as much as LA
 
After you get your money I need around $40k, let's not do PayPal though ... you can FedEx the money to me, prefer small bills.

i know all about it.

I got an internship working in Granbury, TX (about 30 miles from Dallas/Ft Worth). I work 84 hours per week, and dont have a phone line/cable TV at the apartment. I dont have any friends here cause all I do is work, work out, and sleep. I do have a cell phone so I can call my girl nightly, and try to get on AIM at work sometimes. I cant go to bars, etc cause i'm not of age, and i dont go to the mall or anything cause its a 30 min drive each way, and I'm in bed by like 9pm anyway. I did learn not to take friends and family for granted though.
 
i just recently graduated and moved to DC for work two months ago. the only people i know are people i know from work. i did pamper myself at home with cable tv + broadband. I am of legal age to drink and stuff but i dont really go to bars and stuff unless its with people i know. and poeple i know are a bit older so they dont drown themselves in beer like in college.

so I too have problems with not having enough friends to hang each weekend.

money is also a bit tight. Im paid quite enough but i spend too much on rent. ($1350) Im unable to buy my electronic toys some times because i overspend on food or some other necessity.

last month i started dating and it gets a bit expensive. Ive essentially doubled my food and entertainment expenditure as a result. one thing i realized is that when you date, you should do it only for fun and companionship....not for a girlfriend. Ive been kinda pissed at myself for spending so much money and not as much fun as i would with friends that Im not romantically interested in.

so now Ive decided to date girls that are richer than i am. that way they'd be more inclined to pay for themselves or for me.
